H. Rick Albertson Dressage focuses on a correct dressage foundation which enables the horse and rider to reach their maximum potential. He offers serious dressage training in a casual environment, offering comprehensive training for all levels and producing excellent results with riders and horses of every level and ability.
Rick is an FEI level trainer, instructor and clinician and is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist with over 30 years experience. He has garnered many local and USDF awards and has trained and shown from Training Level through Grand Prix dressage. Rick has been fortunate enough to work with some wonderful professionals during his career including Dr. Gail Hoff-Carmona, Linda Smith and Kathy Connelly.

Rick grew up in the horse industry working at his family’s farm since he was a small child. He has a Riding Master degree from Meredith Manor.
As the former dressage coach for Skidmore College and Mount Holyoke College, he was instrumental in the formation of the Intercollegiate Dressage Association. The IDA was Rick’s vision and it is very gratifying to see how it has grown to become the standard of college competitions. |

Rick has a well-deserved reputation as a young horse specialist with the ability and experience to train horses to the FEI levels of dressage.
His many clients range from beginners to competitive upper level professionals. He enjoys coaching all levels of riders and horses and excels in bringing out the best in each horse and rider. Rick is always willing to take on new clients and gives clinics throughout the country as well as Thailand, Jamaica and Trinidad on a regular basis.
